An Indian technical expert was among the 12 victims of the horrific plane crash that took place in Missouri on Sunday morning. In the official list released Tuesday afternoon by the Bates County coroner’s office, SI Karthik Verma Datla was identified as a 24-year-old man from India. The victims also included experienced skydivers who were flying in a 2010 Pacific Aerospace 750XL that crashed shortly after takeoff from Butler Memorial Airport just before 11:30 a.m. Sunday. The aircraft lost control before overturning for an unknown reason, crashing into a field on airport property and bursting into flames, killing all on board.Some family members of the victims witnessed the fatal accident. Records show the plane – with tail number N221BN – was registered to a Tennessee-based company known as Skyhigh Aero LLC. This aircraft was also once used by the Chattanooga Skydiving Company, which leases space at Butler Airport, before it was operated by Skydive Kansas City. Skydive Kansas City, which coordinated Sunday’s flight, released a statement after the accident:“This is a devastating loss for everyone associated with Skydive Kansas City and the broader skydiving community. Our deepest condolences go out to the families, friends and loved ones of all those lost.The plane, a Pacific Aerospace P750XL, was carrying nine experienced skydivers, two tandem jumpers and a pilot, according to the Bates County Department of Emergency Management.
