India wants to move forward with the world: External Affairs Minister Jaishankar

India, which is on the path of development, wants to grow with the world, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Sunday said, stressing that there is genuine goodwill and willingness among countries to work with India.

Mr Jaishankar arrived here during the day on the first leg of his two-nation tour, which will also take him to Singapore.

“Hello Australia! Landed in Brisbane today. Looking forward to meaningful activities in the next few days to further India-Australia friendship,” he posted on Twitter.

Addressing the Indian community here, Mr Jaishankar said, “India will grow. India is growing, but India wants to grow with the world.”

He said, when India looks at the world it sees opportunities.

Jaishankar said, “We are optimistic. There may be problems, but overall, we feel there is goodwill in the world and a willingness to work with India. We see a sentiment for India’s success overall in the world.” And it’s important that we harness that spirit.” ,

He said that there are many opportunities for global cooperation in the field of education and research.

“The image of Indians abroad today, the image of being well-educated, the image of being personally responsible, the work ethic, the family-centric nature of our lives. I think the combination of all this today makes us very, very attractive in the global workplace, ” he said.

“And I think it’s important to develop that brand, to nurture those skills…And again, I emphasize that this era, you know, this era of AI, electric Of mobility, of chips, it will require a global workforce,” he further said.

During his visit, Mr Jaishankar will inaugurate India’s fourth Consulate in Brisbane, Australia.

He will also co-chair the 15th Foreign Ministers Framework Dialogue (FMFD) in Canberra with his Australian counterpart Penny Wong.

He will deliver the keynote address at the inaugural session of the second Raisina Down Under to be held at the Australian Parliament House.

He is also scheduled to interact with Australian leadership, parliamentarians, the business community, media and think tanks.
