Aisha Rao to make her ICW debut
“When I first applied, I was told that I was very young, but I was very constantly about the desire to be a part of this platform. This year, when the opportunity came together, we felt that the time is right,” designer Aisha Rao says Today India,
For his debut showcase, Rao is bringing his signature colorful and playful aesthetics, this time with a comprehensive appeal. She says, “The most frequently associated with us is ‘different’ or ‘unique’, and that is what we are bringing in Indian bridalwear this season.”
“The collection is for someone and everyone who wants to take a little color with confidence. It’s not just 23- or 24 years old. It is for the whole family-the bride, groom, mothers, mothers, guests-every,” says Rao.
Sunil Seth on breaking the image ‘Bridal Show’
Sunil Sethi, president of the Fashion Design Council of India, also adds contrary to the popular belief, ICW is not just a bridal wear showcase.
“This is exactly what we want to change. Just look at designers like Falguni Shane Mor or Manish Malhotra. They are bringing opportunities that are beyond the bride. If you saw Falguni Shane’s Finale show last year, you know that it is nothing like a specific bridal show.
“We are about the bride, yes, but also about the opportunity, red carpet fashion and statement couture. Some pieces shown here are museum-worthy! This is how the level has increased, and I am very proud of it,” he says.
The President of FDCI also opened about starting a new talent on the stage every year.
“Every year, we try to present at least at least a new designer. For years, we have introduced names like Rahul Mishra, Gaurav Gupta and Amit Aggarwal. Just see where they are today. They were once the new entrance to ICW. Get well received – well – he brought a new dimension in the coucher space,” Sithi said. ” Today India,
Line-up declaration removed the mood for ICW as the models used to walk from each participating designer on stage showcasting creation.
