Danielle Fishel has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The actress announced on Monday that she is battling the disease and has been receiving a lot of wishes from her well-wishers. Apart from fans, Fishel’s husband also praised her and claimed that he is proud of her.
On Instagram, Jensen Karp shared a photo of his wife and wrote nice things to her. The actress is popular for her role in the 1990s sitcom Boy Meets World. She also reprised her role in the spinoff series Girl Meets World.
Following the breast cancer news, Fishel’s husband wrote on Stories, “I’m so proud of @daniellefishel for using her platform to raise awareness.” His sweet note further read, “We can’t miss appointments and we need to get tested! She is the strongest person I’ve ever met. She can fight this disease.” The actress broke the news of her cancer diagnosis on her podcast, Pod Meets World.
Speaking to her co-hosts, Rider Strong and Will Friedle, Fishel revealed that her cancer is in the early stages, and the disease is called ductal carcinoma. “So I’d like to share something with our listeners… I was recently diagnosed with DCIS, which is a form of breast cancer,” the actress revealed.
She added, “It’s very, very, very early. It’s technically stage zero. I was diagnosed with high-grade DCIS with micro-invasion. And I’m going to be fine; I’m having surgery to remove it.”

The Boiling Pot star further claimed in the discussion that she was able to detect her cancer in the early stages because she visited the doctor regularly and got regular mammograms. She further added that the reason behind sharing her diagnosis with the audience is to encourage women to get regular health checkups.
“For some reason I always thought (if I got diagnosed with cancer) I would suffer in silence. I would know, I wouldn’t tell anybody,” Fishel said while addressing her audience. “I would only tell my small group and then I would get through it. And then when I got over it, I would tell people.” She added, “I would only tell my small group and then I would get through it.
She further claimed, “When I found out my first instinct was to keep quiet… and then I realized the more people I talked to, the more people had their own experiences.”
Meanwhile, Danielle Fishel has been married to Jensen Karp since 2018 and is the mother of two children.
