Ice Age is set to return to the big screen with a new and sixth installment of a franchise. Disney announced the title and release date for the new film at the D23 Expo held on 30 August, encouraging fans.
According to Variety reports, the film’s makers had earlier announced an animated piece to work in the studio with some new and some returning artists.
The franchise’s sixth film is titled Ice Edge: Boiling point, and it is set to hit theaters on 5 February 2027.
The upcoming film 2016 will mark the first ice edge film since the release of the conflict course.
Ice Age: What will happen about boiling point?
While the plot of the film is still wrapped, the official description of the film states that the boiling point is about a “dinosaur-end-filled madcap adventure, which takes Maini, Sid, Diego, Ellie, Scrat, and the rest of the flock, which has never been seen already lost the world.
Additionally, for the members of the artists, it will see Romano, John Leguimo, Queen Latifa, Dennis Lery and Simon Peg’s return.
For the performance of previous ice edge films at the box office, the 2016 film grossed US $ 408.5 million worldwide. The franchise first flew in 2002, and ever since four mainline sequels and a spinoff have fallen. All films have collected US $ 3.2 billion at the global box office simultaneously.
In addition to the ice edge, Disney announced other projects, including Tron: Ares, Zutopia 2 and Toy Story 5.
