I Want to Talk: Anurag Kashyap says he watched Abhishek Bachchan’s film for the last time before his daughter’s wedding; ‘It was like…’

Abhishek Bachchan’s I Want to Talk, directed by Shoojit Sircar, was released in theaters on November 22, 2024. While Bachchan’s performance in the film is receiving a lot of praise from cinephiles, Anurag Kashyap recently posted an in-depth review. The experience of watching a movie with my daughter just before her daughter’s wedding.

On December 1, Anurag Kashyap shared the poster of Abhishek Bachchan’s film I Want to Talk on his Instagram handle. Reflecting on his experience of watching the film, the filmmaker wrote a long note praising the film.

Anurag wrote, “My daughter is getting married in a few weeks and we went on our last movie date together before I gave her @shoogitsircar to watch.” “I want to talk “Watching this was a deep cleansing of the soul. Beautiful film with @aliyakashyap, I laughed and had tears in my eyes.”

He further wrote, “Like Arjun Sen we all have our own individual marathons and how effortlessly the filmmaker captures it, fueled by a career-best performance from @Bachchan (he has completely come into his own now) and Two powerhouses Rhea’s @ahillyeah and the little kid I don’t know.”

“Still assimilating it and I have a hard time expressing my exact feelings because I can’t count the amount of emotions I felt watching this movie. Do yourself a favor and watch it while it’s in theaters. Watch till then. If nothing else, it will definitely speak to you in ways you wanted but didn’t expect. You are special Shoojit and you know it,” he wrote on the concluding note.

Just a few days ago, veteran actress Shabana Azmi had also reviewed I Want to Talk and called it Abhishek Bachchan’s ‘career-best’ performance.

Directed by Shoojit Sircar, I Want to Talk stars Pearle De, Ahilya Bambru, Jayant Kripalani, Christine Goddard and Johnny Lever in lead roles. It is based on the real-life story of an NRI who is reportedly suffering from cancer and is a friend of director Shoojit. The film tells the story of how a single father has a complicated relationship with his daughter since her childhood.

I Want to Talk is currently playing in theaters.
