I used to drink all night: Aamir Khan reflects on his bad habits
In a candid conversation with Nana Patekar, Aamir Khan reveals his struggle with indiscipline and bad habits but also how filmmaking keeps him grounded. To stay disciplined, he is planning to release one film every year.
Actors Aamir Khan and Nana Patekar recently sat down for a chat, where they discussed how making films acts as “medicine” for them. Aamir also opened up about his bad habits including pipe smoking and admitted to being undisciplined in life. The Taare Zameen Par actor revealed that he becomes disciplined only when he is working on a film.
During a conversation for Zee Music Company’s YouTube channel, Aamir described himself as “undisciplined”, following which Nana asked if he came on time for the shooting of his film.
“Yes. I’m always on time for that.” So when it comes to my films I am not undisciplined, but in my life I am,” Aamir replied. He then went on to mention some of his other bad habits and added, “I smoke a pipe. Now I have given up drinking alcohol, but there was a time when I used to drink alcohol. And when he drank, he drank the whole night.”
Describing himself as an “extremist”, Aamir said, “The problem is that I’m an extremist guy, so I keep doing what I’m already doing. It’s not a good thing and I realize that. I also Know what I’m doing.” It’s wrong, but I can’t stop myself.”
However, Aamir revealed that all this changes when he starts working on a film. Nana Patekar suggested that he should keep making films. The Dangal actor replied, “I have thought that now I will do one film a year because otherwise, I do one film in three years.”
Aamir Khan was last seen in the 2022 film Lal Singh Chaddha. After which he took a break from actingHe is currently working on his next project Taare Zameen Par, a sequel to his 2007 blockbuster film Taare Zameen Par. Additionally, he is producing a film titled Lahore 1947, starring Sunny Deol in the lead role.
