Hugh Jackman recently revealed how he enjoyed the process of getting heavy again while playing his iconic X-Men character Wolverine again for his latest superhero film, Wolverine & Deadpool. Jackman reunites with his longtime friend and co-star Ryan Reynolds, who returns as Wade Wilson/Deadpool.

Hugh Jackman recalls his tremendous physical transformation for Deadpool and Wolverine

In a recent interview with People magazine, Hugh Jackman and his co-star Ryan Reynolds talked about their newly released superhero movie Deadpool and Wolverine. Jackman also discussed the intense physical transformation he underwent for the role, as he returns to play Wolverine on the silver screen once again.

“I got to the point, this was probably ten years ago, that I felt like I wasn’t enjoying it. It was painful. It was tough,” the Oklahoma movie star said.

“But I’ve had a break, and I’ve been dancing a lot. I’ve been doing stage shows and arena shows,” he said, adding that when he returned to training for the role again, it was “fun” and he was “thrilled”.

Although Jackman revealed his body was “a bit sore” at the beginning of the training, he was “happy” that his body was still responding well, adding that he also “realised how good it is for your brain.”

Hugh Jackman reveals his diet plan

During a conversation with the outlet, Hugh Jackman revealed that he had to “eat a lot” to build muscle for his role as Wolverine, adding that, since he’s “naturally skinny,” gaining size was the most challenging part “That’s the hardest part.”

His co-star Ryan Reynolds said eating five or six meals a day might sound appealing to some people, “but it’s not the type of meal you can really enjoy.”

Meanwhile, the much-anticipated Shawn Levy superhero film Deadpool & Wolverine is now in theaters. Along with Reynolds (who is also the co-writer and co-producer of this MCU film) and Jackman, the film also stars a number of talented actors such as Leslie Uggams, Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Karan Soni, Matthew Macfadyen and Jennifer Garner.
