Dhurandhar had a great second weekend at the overseas box office and collected approximately US$5.50 million (₹49 crore). The Ranveer Singh starrer recorded a whopping 68 percent growth in business in its opening weekend. This brings its total earnings to approximately US$11.95 million (Rs 108 crore). Combined with Rs. 400 crore gross box office collection from India, taking the film’s total worldwide earnings to Rs. 508 crores.
The second weekend numbers are the third highest ever for a Bollywood film, behind Jaawaan (US$7.10 million) and Pathan (US$6.80 million). This is because the film has not only failed to release in the Middle Eastern markets, but is also suffering from capacity constraints in all major markets. When counting Middle Eastern markets, Dhurandhar comes out on top, ahead of both Jawan and Pathan.
With a gross of US$2.40 million in the second weekend, the United States is the top collection market, crossing the US$5 million mark. Australia can actually be said to be the best performer, and it is here that capacity issues are most acute. The film had a houseful run at most of the top venues for Indian films, with the top series recording 90 percent occupancy over the weekend. The film is on its way to challenge Animal as the highest grossing film in the country. The United Kingdom got off to a slow start last week, but was posting near record numbers for the second weekend. Similarly, other smaller markets also witnessed good gains. Germany grossed a cool 150K Euros in its second weekend on a very limited release.
The regional details of Dhurandhar Overseas Box Office are as follows:
| area | Total |
|---|---|
| United States of America | USD 5,025,000 |
| Canada | 2,160,000 US dollars |
| Australia | 1,640,000 US dollars |
| new zealand | 225,000 US dollars |
| Nepal | 260,000 US dollars |
| united kingdom | 1,650,000 US dollars |
| Germany | 265,000 US dollars |
| rest of Europe | 375,000 US dollars |
| rest of the world | 350,000 US dollars |
| migrant | USD 11,950,000 |
With tremendous momentum, huge spillover and the upcoming holiday period, the film is now all set to cross the USD 20 million mark, and USD 25 million is quite achievable. This may seem small compared to ‘Jawaan’ and ‘Pathan’s total of around US$50 million, and is on par with some other films which have grossed US$25-30 million, but here it would be excluding the Middle Eastern markets, which could add US$5-10 million and entirely on the strength of the four major markets, which would gross record or near record numbers.
