Hrithik and Rakesh Roshan’s documentary celebrates the legacy of three generations of the family, will it release on OTT in December?

Hrithik Roshan belongs to a family that has contributed immensely to the history of the Indian film industry. He was born to actor-filmmaker Rakesh Roshan while his grandfather Roshanlal Nagrath was an acclaimed musician. Not to forget the actor’s uncle Rajesh Roshanlal Nagrath who is an equally talented music director and composer. To celebrate his family’s legacy, he decided to make a documentary which is expected to be released on OTT by December 2024.

According to a report in Mid-Day, Hrithik Roshan and Rakesh Roshan’s upcoming docu-series titled The Roshans is expected to release on Netflix in December. The series will highlight the success and struggles of all the actors born in the family and will also feature Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sham Kaushal who will give insight into them.

Last year, in an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla, an industry insider had revealed that Rakesh Roshan is making a special documentary which will be based on the unforgettable contribution of the Roshan family to the Indian film industry. The source said, “The journey begins with his father Roshan Lal Nagrath, who came to Mumbai in 1947 and established himself as one of the most prominent music directors in the 1950s and 1960s. The legacy was then carried forward through his sons Rakesh and Rajesh Roshan, who excelled in acting, direction and music, and finally his grandson Hrithik, who is considered one of the biggest superstars of Bollywood today.”

It was also revealed that the documentary will be a star-studded one, following the style of Netflix India’s recently released ‘The Romantics’. Moreover, the Shashi Ranjan-directed documentary will also feature archival footage and in-depth, exclusive interviews with dozens of Bollywood celebrities who have worked with the Roshan family over the years. If the reports about the release are true, Hrithik Roshan will also celebrate 25 years of his debut film Kaho Naa Pyar Hai in January 2025. Also, he will turn 51 on January 10.

Meanwhile, globally, the Fighter actor is currently working on his upcoming action-thriller, War 2, in which he will be seen playing the role of Major Kabir Dhaliwal.
