Interview
- Your first runway shows the post post during the epidemic. Tell us a little about how special it is and Prep went behind it.
In 2020, when the world stopped, we chose to move forward. India’s first reputation during the global crisis – launching the Shikar brand was an adventure decision – one that defined the logic but feels comfortably right. After this there was nothing less than extraordinary: a movement that changed the notion of Indian Menswear, leading to 17 stores, a rich e-commerce appearance, and a growing community that shares our vision of democratic fashion.
Nevertheless, some were missing- the energy of the runway, the lightning of a live audience, and the raw story that only a fashion show can bring to life. Pijaza Nova marks the moment where all this complete cycle comes. It is not just about a collection; It is about recovering the pulse of our brand on the runway. The show is our 25 -year travel and a tribute for 5 years of S&N – the development of our signature beauty, where military influences meet contemporary rebellion.
The preparations behind this show have been careful as our craftsmanship – every detail from silhouette manufacturing to goods is designed to reflect the refinement of the modern Indian person. The enthusiasm is not only about presenting a collection; This is about celebrating an ideology that we are today.
- S&N is known for its innate mixture of heritage and contemporary fashion. How does this collection reflect that signature ethos by carrying forward the boundaries?
Heritage is our foundation, but innovation is our inspiring power. Piaza Nova challenges the conferences while being vested under our signature structured drapes and military influence.
In this season, we have redefined Bandhagala – to make it a sharp, international appeal with shirts and relationships. Vascot is elevated in jacket-like structures, while the mix-end-match style is at the origin of the collection. Every piece is designed for versatility, allowing men to express themselves through a leveled, thoughtful dressing.
Accessories are important in completing the look, which combines a layer of purification that increases personality. Our signature crests and tapes are not just ornamentation; Those statements are – symbols of strength and accuracy that embodies the S&N identity. This collection does not blur only the lines between tradition and modernity – it prepares them completely.
- Every collection tells a story. Which story are you expecting to express on the runway this season?
Pijaza Nova is a tribute to our visit – a development of signature aesthetics that has re -defined the Indian Mainswear Couture. Our Sartorial Revolution began with the Cabinet Mission in 2016, which lays the foundation for an interpretation of a new age of structured drapes and military-inspired detailed. This vision was carried forward through collections such as tribe, freedom and regiment, where we originally mixed liquidity with accurate stitching, a Regal yet infected the men’swear with a contemporary edge.
Along with Piaza Nova, we pursue this story, refining our crafts while being perfect for the essence of modern Indian Couture. This collection is a will for imperishable stitching and craftsmanship, designed to exclude strength, elegance and versatility. But more than just fashion, Piaza Nova is about redefining the way men embrace luxury and self-expression.
Our journey made another bold jump with the launch of S&N by Shantnu Nikhil in 2020, making our beauty more accessible to the widespread audiences. Pijaza Nova is a bridge between our past and the future, showing how we continue to develop in the philosophy of all this.
- Was there any specific cultural, architectural or artistic motivations that shape this collection?
The essence of Pijia Nova broke into Pitti Uomom, where we saw a masterclass in spontaneous elegance. The men there were not just well prepared; He pushed himself forward with an uninterrupted confidence – a spontaneous sophistication that felt comfortable.
That experience encouraged us to imagine a spontaneous mix of the Indian sortorial heritage with the cunning of Italian dressing. We wanted to bring the world into our world, where European sewing sharpness fulfills the prosperity of Indian craftsmanship. The result is a collection that re -defines Indian men’swear with a global approach – bold yet classic, structured yet liquid.
- How do you create the right balance between tradition and innovation in your designs?
For us, the tradition is not about looking back – it is about developing further. We have created a design language that is both progressive and inherent, allowing us to create a silhouette that powerful yet feels comfortable.
Our strength lies in preparing a balance, where military effects meet liquid draping, where sharp stitch co -existence with a rebellious spirit. Every element we present, with our signature, the way we create a bandagla are intentional. We do not believe in excess; We believe in accuracy.
Shantnu separates S&N by Nikhil, it is the ability to shape a legend, which reflects modern Indian identity. Bold, confidence, and unexpected contemporary.
- From the first sketch to the final sewing – that is a moment that said to you, “Yes, this is!”?
It was during one of our last fittings when we saw Bandhagala styled with a crisp shirt and tie. This moment felt like a revelation – it was everything we had imagined: a bold rebuilding of heritage that felt comfortable modern. Seeing the sharp cuts, the way the clothes went, and the confidence that left it – then we knew this is the future of Indian Mainewear.
- Consumers are more conscious than ever before. How is S&N involving stability in its design and production process without compromising luxury?
Stability, for us, is about creating a circular ecosystem – one where fashion is as responsible as it is fantastic. One of our major initiatives allows customers to exchange their old santanu and nikhil pieces for credits for new purchases. This ensures that our designs have a long life cycle promoting mindful consumption. This enables us to produce more efficiently, reduces excess and waste. In addition, we are constantly searching for new materials and techniques that align with permanent practices – whether it is using resource -skilled clothing or reducing waste in our design process. Fashion, in its best, is timeless. And through these conscious efforts, we are sure that our heritage is not only about style, but also about responsibility.
