Director Ahmed Khan reveals the big cast of Akshay Kumar-led comedy Welcome to the Jungle. He compared working with the crew to managing a daily concert.

Khan said the number increased further after the addition of stunt teams, action fighters, horsemen, 150 to 200 background actors and large dance troupes. According to him, on some days the total number of people on the set used to be between 700 to 900.

The director revealed that shooting the film felt like holding a giant music festival every day. Explaining the scale of the operation, he said, “Imagine setting up a shoot of this scale; we didn’t just need one ground, we had to find two huge, adjacent grounds. Why? Because we needed space to park 50 vanity vans. We needed additional holding areas for the background actors and cabins for the main unit. Then consider the commute. The actors come in their own cars, the technicians in their own cars, plus the makeup team, hair Separate vehicles for stylists and personal staff. We had 200 to 250 cars coming in every day. Managing our sets was not like managing a traditional film shoot, but like organizing a huge music festival.”
Khan also highlighted that despite the scale of the production, the actors remained collaborative throughout the shoot. He said, “Normally, on a set with so many big stars, you expect ego clashes, arguments or bickering. But we had nothing like that; we really had an amazing time shooting the film. Of course, it took a lot of hard work to bring so many people together in intense heat, manage tight deadlines, sort out dates, set up camera frames and set up the physical sets.”
