Kim Kardashian held the record for Hollywood’s shortest marriage in 2011. The reality star was previously married to NBA player Kris Humphries, but it didn’t last more than 72 days and the star sportsman knew exactly why that happened.
Humphries was reportedly aware of Kardashian’s alleged affair with rapper mogul, Kanye West (now Ye) during their relationship. Furthermore, the athlete insinuated that the reality star’s motive behind the marriage was not motivated by love but rather to leverage the popularity of the marriage for her own benefit.

As per a report by TMZ, Kris Humphries, 39, has expressed doubts about Kim Kardashian’s fidelity to his ex-girlfriend Myla Sinanaj. He said that the SKIMS founder cheated on him with Kanye West because he didn’t attend their lavish wedding in 2011.
The revelation came shortly after Humphries filed for divorce later that year. West was described as a “close friend” of Kardashian, which led the basketball player to question why the rapper didn’t attend their wedding.
According to the 2012 report, Chris told Myla, “If he was such a close family friend, why wasn’t he invited to the wedding?”
In addition, Kanye West’s explosive diss track, Theraflu, further fuelled Humphries’ suspicions as the rapper admitted to having an affair with The Kardashians star. “And I admit I fell in love with Kim. She fell in love with him around the same time. Well, that’s cool baby girl, do your thing,” the lyrics apparently “upset” the athlete.
If that wasn’t all, Kim Kardashian also admitted to an incident that confirmed her failed marriage with Humphries. Years after the divorce and moving on with Ye, the reality star revealed in a 2018 interview that she was forced to hide her massive diamond ring from the rapper during a conversation.
Speaking to Big Boy’s Neighborhood, Kardashian revealed she was presenting an award that Ye, 42, was nominated for. According to People, they met backstage and were engaged in conversation while sitting at the same table at Soho House.
Kim recalled, “I was wearing my big ring because I was married. So I was talking to my ring and I also talk with my hands a lot, so I was talking, and I would see him looking at my ring and his face would just fall apart.” Moved by the rapper’s gesture, Kim decided to remove her hand for the rest of the dinner.
On the other hand, Kim stressed the fact that nothing happened between her and West until she and Humphries officially broke up. The Stronger rapper reportedly started showing interest in her soon after her lavish wedding with the NBA player.
What happened between Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries?
Kris Humphries, who shares the same name as her former mother-in-law, began dating Kim in 2010 after being introduced to her in New York. Within a year of beginning the romance, the former couple married in May 2011 after the athlete proposed. According to US Weekly, their highly televised wedding was aired as an E! special titled, Kim’s Fairytale Wedding.
Unfortunately, their marriage went on to be one of the shortest in pop culture, lasting less than two months. Kim filed for divorce soon after when rumors of the couple not getting along made headlines.
Similarly, Humphries also filed for divorce in November 2011, but accused Kim of being a “deceiver” for taking advantage of the relationship to boost her stardom and TV ratings. Before the divorce was finalized in 2013, Kim had already moved on with Ye and also announced her pregnancy with their first child.
