Veteran musician Vipin Reshammiya, father of renowned musician and actor Himesh Reshammiya, passed away on September 18 in Mumbai at the age of 87. A respected figure in the music industry, Vipin played a key role in furthering his son’s career from an early age, acting as a mentor and guiding Himesh towards success. The funeral is currently underway, with many celebrities including Atul Agnihotri, Iulia Vantur, Sajid Khan along with Farah Khan and Ramesh Taurani arriving to pay their tributes.
Salman Khan’s brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri attended the funeral of Himesh Reshammiya’s father Vipin Reshammiya. He was seen leaving the venue with film director Sajid Khan. The two were seen talking while leaving.
Sajid Khan arrived at the funeral with his sister Farah Khan. Actress Iulia Vantur also arrived there to offer her condolences. Producer Ramesh Taurani, singer Shaan and many others also joined in to pay their last respects.
Vipin was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. According to ETimes, he was suffering from respiratory problems and other health complications related to his age.
A close family friend, Vanita Thapar told the news portal, “I am a family friend, like family. I used to call him papa since the time he was making TV serials. Later, he became a music director and then Himesh followed in his footsteps. We both have a very close bond. Numerologist Anup Singh and I were also very close to him.”
After the demise of Vipin Reshammiya, his family released an emotional statement which read, “It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father Shri Vipin Reshammiya on September 18, 2024. A kind soul with a heart full of love, his presence brightened the lives of all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, wisdom, cherished memories and timeless music.”
Vipin Reshammiya has made significant contributions to the film industry. He produced The Xpose (2014) and Teraa Suroor (2016), starring his son Himesh Reshammiya in the lead role. Apart from this, he composed music for a film called Insaaf Ka Sooraj (1990), although it was never released.
Himesh Reshammiya, son of Vipin Reshammiya, is a prominent figure in both the music and film industry. He began his career as a musician and later ventured into acting with the 2007 film Aap Kaa Suroor. Himesh has also been a judge on several popular singing reality shows such as Indian Idol, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge, Sur Kshetra and Sangeet Ka Maha Muqabla. Apart from singing, Himesh has played multiple roles as a music director, lyricist, producer and actor.
