Donald Trump is on the verge of a landslide victory in what was predicted to be a close election. Republicans managed to flip all seven battleground states to their advantage — an astonishing feat considering that Democrats carried them 6-1 in the 2020 election.
Addressing his supporters, Trump said it was a “resounding victory for the American people”, pointing to his victory in election projections. He also referred to the July 13 assassination attempt and said, “God spared my life for a reason”.
Describing the Republican campaign as “the biggest political movement ever,” Trump said, “We’re going to help fix our country, fix our borders, we made history tonight for a reason. We made history with the most “I want to thank the American people. I will fight for you and your family with every breath of my body.”
Trump said Democrats are now expecting a huge electoral vote score of 315.
What makes the Republican victory big is that they have also taken control of the Senate and are leading in the elections for the House of Representatives.
In his victory speech, Trump thanked his supporters, including running mate J.D. Vance, wife Melanie Trump and his children for their support in a challenging campaign. He also took on Tesla CEO and ex-boss Elon Musk, who is voicing support for Trump.
