Liam Payne’s former One Direction bandmate Harry Styles has broken his silence on the pop star’s tragic death. The As It Was singer took to Instagram to share a heartfelt post mourning the musician’s passing.
“I am truly heartbroken over the passing of Liam,” Styles wrote alongside a photo of Payne on stage. “His greatest joy was making other people happy, and it was an honor to be with him as he did that,” she said.
Styles recalled how Liam Payne “lived openly with his heart on his sleeve” and said the late singer had “an energy for life that was infectious.”
The Watermelon Sugar hitmaker also called Liam Payne “heartfelt, supportive and incredibly loving.” He then said that the years he spent with Payne “will always be one of the most memorable years of my life.”
Styles added, “I will always miss him, my dear friend.” The musician ended her post with a heartfelt note for Liam Payne’s family, saying, “My heart breaks for Karen, Geoff, Nicola and Ruth, their son Bear, and all the people around the world who loved them.” Knew and loved him.”
Harry Styles’ post comes shortly after his fellow One Direction members Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik shared their own tributes to Payne.
The band also released a joint statement on their official Instagram account. “We are absolutely devastated by the news of Liam’s passing,” One Direction’s statement said.
It says, “In time, and when everyone is able, there will be more to say. But right now, we need to grieve and heal from the passing of our brother, whom we loved so much.” It will take some time.”

Liam Payne was tragically declared dead after reportedly falling from the third floor balcony of the Casasur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was 31 years old at the time of his death.
