Actor-director Vir Das talks about his upcoming film Happy Patel: Dangerous Detective. In an interview with Senior Editor Sonal Mehrotra Kapoor India TodayVeer, who has co-directed the film with Kavi Shastri, opened up about producer Aamir Khan’s reaction to the film’s script and characters.

Sharing the story of the film, Veer told that after the death of his character’s mother, he was brought up in England and trained for India. The actor playing the lead role returns to India to take on the Goa mafia.

Speaking about Aamir’s reaction to the film, the Happy Patel: Dangerous Detective The actor recalled that “Aamir said four important things: ‘Tumne hatke film banai hai (You have made a unique film), Hero pitta rehta hai (The hero keeps getting beaten), The woman in the love track has upper control, You are a bad dancer’.”

Veer, who has also co-written the film’s songs, asserted, “At its core the film takes every NRI and proves him wrong. Every idea he has about India is proven wrong.”

In the trailer, Veer is seen in a unique avatar as a ‘perfect, imperfect detective’. The story follows his character’s journey as he finds himself embroiled in various chaotic events, which contributes to the light-hearted and comedic nature of the film. The main cast includes Mona Singh, whose role is said to be completely different from her previous work, while Mithila Palkar and Aamir Khan also appear, each adding a unique element to the ensemble cast.

Vir Das, who previously worked in the studio Delhi Bellybrings considerable experience as both a stand-up comedian and actor to the project. Given his global recognition and previous film successes, his collaboration with Aamir Khan Productions is seen as a notable aspect of the production.
