Happy Birthday Sara Ali Khan: When the actress revealed how her lie to mother Amrita Singh was exposed by a journalist

Sara Ali Khan turned 29 today, August 12. One of the most loved actresses has been receiving heartfelt birthday wishes from fans, family and friends on social media. On her special day, here’s a funny incident when Sara revealed how a journalist exposed one of her lies to her mother Amrita Singh.

During her appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show, Sara Ali Khan revealed one of her naughty antics. The actress revealed how she once lied to her mother Amrita Singh about her whereabouts but was later exposed by a journalist.

“Once I told my mother a lie which should not be told. You should not lie. Main mummy ko bola ki main padosi ke ghar hun lekin main local train leke Elphinstone Road chali gayi (I told my mother that I was going to the neighbour’s house and took the local train to Elphinstone Road),” she said.

When Kapil Sharma asked Sara why she went to Elphinstone Road, Sara winked and said that she had gone to meet some other friend. However, the next morning, Amrita asked her where she was the previous day and she stuck to her story.

Birthday girl Sara revealed, “Actually unko kisi patrika ne kalpan ki tha, ‘Amrita ji, aapne apni beti ko itni achhi chutta se pala hai, woh local train ko use karti hai…’ (Some journalist called my mother and praised her how well she has brought me up, and that I travel by local train),” she said.

Kapil asked Sara if this was the last time she lied to Amrita about where she was or what she was doing. Sara said that she did this many times but the pictures were not published.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Sara Ali Khan was recently seen in Murder Mubarak. She will next be seen in Metro…In Dino alongside Aditya Roy Kapur. Directed by Anurag Basu, the film also stars Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi and others. Metro…In Dino is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anurag Basu and Tani Basu and is expected to release in 2024.
