Gustakh Ishq: Kuch Pehle has had a disappointing opening at the box office. The film starring Vijay Varma, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sharib Hashmi and Naseeruddin Shah has collected an estimated Rs. Started with. 45 lakh to Rs. 55 lakhs in India. The Vibhu Puri directorial released alongside Dhanush and Kriti Sanon starrer Tere Ishq Mein, which is a relatively bigger film.
Popular fashion designer Manish Malhotra’s debut film as a producer, Gustakh Ishq: Kuch Pehle Jaisa, doesn’t have much to do at the box office, as it is a very niche film. Films like Gustakh Ishq are not only released on limited screens but are also seen as art cinema, which does not attract a large section of the audience. Thus, such films do not have much potential at the box office. Still, if the film maintains its level then it can earn Rs 1.20 crore to 1.70 crore in its opening weekend.
For those unaware, Gustakh Ishq: Kuch Pehle As is a romantic drama that tells the story of a young man who visits a seasoned poet to learn poetry. Meanwhile, he falls in love with the poet’s daughter. The film was earlier titled Ul Jalul Ishq; However, this was later changed. Naseeruddin Ishq plays the role of a seasoned poet, while Vijay Verma and Fatima Sana Shaikh play opposite each other. Set against the backdrop of old Delhi and the brothels of Punjab, this classic love story takes an unexpected turn when misunderstandings threaten the couple’s relationship. Whether they overcome these challenges or become victims of fate forms the crux of the story.
