Guru Randhawa supports the government’s move to make Punjabi mandatory in schools

Singer Guru Randhawa on Thursday shared a post, supporting the Punjab government’s decision to make Punjabi a mandatory subject for students in Punjab schools. He mentioned his career and successful Punjabi songs, which he has cuisted for years to underline the importance of knowing the language.

The 33 -year -old singer said that Punjabi is more than a language, and it represents the culture and history of the state. Randhawa also mentioned that students should learn language, whatever board schools are affiliated.

He wrote, “Punjabi language should be for every student studying in Punjab, whether it is a board. Its pride and mother. We respect all languages ​​but Punjabi language is our culture and roots. My whole existence is due to my language and songs in Punjabi.

Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains announced on Wednesday that the certificates issued by schools would be considered zero and zero if the Punjabi is not part of the course. The state further asked schools to make Punjabi one of the main subjects in class X.

The AAP government accused the BJP of leaving the Punjabi after accusing the BJP -led Center and the CBSE (Board of Central Secondary Education), when the students were accused of leaving Punjabi from the list of main subjects being followed by the students in class X as part of the new draft criteria for the board examination.
