Actor Gulshan Devaiah is all set to make his Tamil debut with the much-awaited crime drama series ‘Legacy’ on Netflix. Written and directed by Charukesh Sekar, the series features a lead cast including R Madhavan, Nimisha Sajayan, Gautham Karthik and many other established actors from the Tamil film industry.

‘Legacy’ tells the story of “the aging head of a powerful crime family” who “races against time to anoint an heir to save his mighty empire from inevitable siege. He must fight to save the family, his empire and most importantly – his legacy.” The story focuses on the challenges faced by the family as they struggle to secure their position.

Gulshan Devaiah shared his thoughts on joining the series and the role it played in building the Tamil language. In conversation with Mid-Day, Gulshan said, “Legacy is a great opportunity for me to explore linguistic diversity in my career. After working predominantly in Hindi for almost 14 years, I feel quite settled to spread my wings and fly. I play a cop who is struggling with his sense of responsibility towards his duty, family and self. It has been a very satisfying experience for me with Legacy, and I am back in Chennai for my final schedule. Looking forward to coming.”

He further added, “It is my good fortune that I get to share the screen with Madhavan, Nimisha, Abhishek, Gautham Karthik, Mr. Viyapuri and other established, experienced actors of the Tamil industry.” The group is expected to bring depth and authenticity to the crime drama.

The director of this project, Charukesh Sekar, had earlier directed the Telugu film ‘Ammu’. ‘Legacy’ is produced by Kalyan Subramanian of Stone Bench Pvt Ltd, though the release date has not been announced yet.
