Google is gearing up to release the Google Pixel 9 series on August 13. As per the official teaser, the high-end smartphones in the series will make heavy use of its AI, Gemini. While everyone is waiting for the Pixel 9 series to release, the most awaited one is the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold. This is the company’s second foldable and the first device to launch in India. Apart from the launch details and Gemini AI integration, Google has not revealed anything about the phone. However, there are some rumours and leaks doing the rounds on the internet. It is expected that the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be quite different from its previous version Google Pixel Fold. Let’s take a look at the leaks in detail.

Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold: Leaked display

The upcoming smartphone is expected to feature a much bigger display than its previous model. Android Authority, The Pixel 9 Pro Fold will likely have an 8-inch inner display. This is not only an upgrade from the Fold 1’s 7.4-inches but also stands as a great competitor.

According to the report, the new display will have a resolution of 2152 x 2076, a maximum brightness of 1,600 nits, and support a 120Hz refresh rate. The Google Fold disappointingly fell short of 1,000 nits.

Because of such a larger screen, the external display will also be taller. The 6.24-inch panel is 0.4 inches larger diagonally than the original. There’s no mention of a display crease, but the extra width of the device and its hinge due to the larger display is also not noticeable.

The leaked camera

While the teaser doesn’t reveal the camera on the inner screen, rumours indicate the phone will feature a punch-hole camera on the left side of the screen, a design upgrade from the first Fold’s bezel-mounted camera, made possible by the reduced bezel size.

Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold: Expected price in India

Finally, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which succeeds last year’s Pixel Fold, will be priced at €1,899 (roughly Rs. 173,000) for the 256GB variant and €2,029 (roughly Rs. 184,000) for the 512GB variant, and will apparently be available only in Obsidian and Porcelain.

Google will reveal everything about the new Google Pixel 9 series on August 13, but before that it has confirmed the design and look of its premium models. The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold teaser on X (earlier Twitter) reveals almost everything about the device. The official teaser shows the Pixel 9 Pro Fold with a stunning design with a dual-pill-shaped camera cutout. The cameras are placed on a rectangular island in the top-left corner of the rear panel.
