A fairly reputable leakster has released some alleged details for Google’s new “A-series” device, and if true, it could be the best device to come out in years. There’s at least one big surprise that we clearly weren’t expecting – the chipset.
When Google launched the Pixel 10a in March 2026, one of the biggest complaints from potential buyers was the chipset. Google decided to stick with last year’s Tensor G4 chipset, which is one of the aspects that made the 10a similar to the Pixel 9a. Well, if these new rumors are true, then the Pixel 11a may actually come with the latest and greatest Tensor G6 chipset. Thanks to some Pixel 11 leaks, we already know a bit about said chip, and it looks pretty impressive. In fact, it could become the first official 2nm chip to hit the market. Main on the Pixel 11 family, which is being unveiled on August 12. By all accounts, the Pixel 11a is still a few months away. We can probably expect some time in March 2027.
Anyway, Mystic Leaks also shares some other suggested Pixel 11a specs. The device apparently has the internal codename “Formosan”. It is expected to have a 6.30-inch, 1080p display, peak brightness of 2,250 nits, and official HDR support with a peak brightness of 3,350 nits. The Pixel 11a will likely have 8GB of RAM as base, and the phone’s alleged “minimum battery capacity” is 4,870 mAh. The term is potentially confusing, but for what it’s worth, most batteries actually have a minimum rated capacity among their other specifications, but that number is rarely what is advertised to users. So, chances are, the Pixel 11a will either stick to the same 5,100 mAh capacity cell as the Pixel 10a or, in the worst case, downgrade the rating to, say, 5,000 mAh. At least that’s our best guess.
As we mentioned, the Pixel 11a might be based on the Tensor G6 chipset, but more likely it will be a slightly downgraded version of it. Probably the bottom trash can. While this will reduce its raw performance somewhat, other aspects of it, such as the suggested new MediaTek M90 modem, will still be present. Rumors also claim that the Pixel 11a will use the same Titan M3 security chip as the rest of the Pixel 11 family.
Another leakster has suggested a new front camera for the Pixel 11a. However, unfortunately, apart from the alleged codename – “Dokkaebi”, we don’t have any details on it yet. And finally, the suggested color options for the Pixel 11a include black, green, purple, and silver.
