Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine as Light has created history by securing two nominations for the Golden Globes 2025. The film is nominated for Best Non-English Language Motion Picture, while director Payal Kapadia is nominated for Best Director (Motion Picture).

In the Best Non-English Language Motion Picture category, We imagine everything as light The French film will compete with Emilia Perez (which also won the most nominations at the 82nd Golden Globes), The Girl with the Needle, I’m Still Here, The Seed of the Sacred Fig and Vermiglio.

In the Best Director (Motion Picture) category, Payal Kapadia is nominated along with Jacques Audiard for Emilia Perez, Sean Baker for Anora, Edward Berger for Conclave, Brady Corbett for The Brutalist and Coralie Farguet for The Substance .

All We Imagine as Light, which releases theatrically in India on November 22Earlier he had received praise at the international level. The film became the first Indian film to win the prestigious Grand Prix at Cannes 2024.

It also received the Jury Grand Prize at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards. Best International Feature at the Gotham Awardsand many other awards including the Best International Film Award at the New York Film Critics Circle.
