GOAT Box Office Day 3: Vijay’s film back on track, reaches Rs 100 crore mark in India

GOAT Box Office Collection Day 3: Thalapathy Vijay’s film picked up pace at the ticket counters on Saturday. The film crossed the Rs 100 crore milestone within three days of its release.

GOAT Box Office Collection Day 3: Thalapathy Vijay’s latest release, The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), after a significant drop in its collections on Friday, picked up some momentum at the box office on Saturday, September 7. The Venkat Prabhu directorial witnessed a growth of 29.41 per cent in the domestic market and managed to cross the Rs 100 crore mark.

According to industry tracker SaconilcGOAT earned Rs 33 crore on Saturday, of which Rs 29.1 crore came from its Tamil version. The Hindi version of the film earned around Rs 2.15 crore, and the Telugu version contributed Rs 1.75 crore. This takes the total three-day net collection of the film in India to Rs 102.5 crore, with the Tamil version contributing a major amount of Rs 91 crore.

As of Friday, the film has grossed Rs 155 crore worldwide and is expected to cross the Rs 200-crore mark by the weekend.

Film trade analyst Ramesh Bala wrote in an ex post, “After TN, #GOAT is doing very well overseas.. #ThalapathyVijay stardom & #VP packaging along with many Tamil movie/star references, tributes & cameos have engaged Tamil audiences here at home & abroad.. (sic).” In another post, he wrote, “#GOAT has done very well in North America on Saturday.. $800K till 10pm EST.. heading towards $3 million.. (sic).”

Now, with the action-thriller GOAT hitting the ticket counters nationally and internationally, it remains to be seen if it will surpass Leo and become Thalapathy Vijay’s highest-grossing film. Leo, made on a budget of Rs 225 crore, grossed Rs 618.5 crore worldwide in 2023.
