Medha, who saw a huge rise in visibility after Vidhu Vinod Chopra 12th failedshared that the most common advice they received was driven by urgency. He said, “The one thing I was advised was to sign another film as soon as possible, almost immediately.” The actor said that people often forget that signing a film is just a formality; One needs the right script first.
She said, “They said people will forget you, but if I don’t understand the meaning of the film then what’s the reason for me to do another film quickly? I’d rather wait for something I believe in than just say this. I’m not trying to make a reel. This is my work and I’ll give it the respect it deserves.”
Avinash, on the other hand, said he has largely been spared the barrage of advice because, as he said, people may not have cared enough to give advice. He said, “I don’t think anyone would have thought it necessary to give me advice. Also, they might be afraid that if they did I would in turn ask them four difficult questions to which they would not have the answers.”
However, he did share that there was one conversation that stuck with him, not exactly advice, but something that changed his perspective.
“There was a conversation that was interesting to me. Someone said to me, Avinash, you are a very good chef. What do you eat for breakfast? I replied, I usually have tea, eggs and toast. He asked, for how many days do you eat this? I said, I eat this four to five days, and eat something else the other two days. So he told me it means I don’t take too many risks. I tried to defend myself, saying I try different styles and roles. Then he said, why don’t you make the best bread in town every day, even if it’s not obvious advice?
