Full Swing and Tour de France: Unchained will return to Netflix in 2025

Netflix has recently proven to be a treasure trove for sports lovers, as it has a number of documentaries on it that take you on an exciting journey through the ups and downs of the sports field and let you in on the untold secrets behind success stories and historic moments. Two of its most talked-about documentaries, Full Swing and Tour de France: Unchained, have recently been renewed for new seasons.

The second season of Full Swing premiered on Netflix in March this year, while Tour de France: Unchained season 2 was released just a few months ago in June. Here’s what we know about both series and their third season renewals.

Produced in collaboration between Netflix and the PGA Tour, this docuseries takes a behind-the-scenes look at PGA Tour players and tournaments. The series from Vox Media Studios and Box to Box Films premiered in February 2023 and will have a second season in March 2024.

As the PGA version of Drive to Survive, the series has looked at the ups and downs of the major championships—the Masters, the PGA Championship, the U.S. Open Championship and the Open Championship—over the years. Many of the show’s stars have had their greener and more personal lives, and the most recent season even included Geno Bonelli’s wedding.

According to multiple sources cited by What’s On Netflix, Season 3 has reportedly been in development since early 2024 and is expected to release in early 2025.

The PGA Tour not only organizes the professional golf tour in North America, but it also oversees most of the major annual tour events, including the PGA Tour Champions and Korn Ferry Tour, as well as PGA Tour Canada, PGA Tour Latinoamerica, and the former PGA Tour China.

Ponte Vedra Beach, located southeast of Jacksonville, Florida, is the headquarters of the non-profit PGA Tour, which was originally founded by the Professional Golfers’ Association of America.

The television documentary series takes a look at the Tour de France, one of the world’s most famous cycling races. The show follows a similar format and is produced by the same team behind Netflix’s popular sports documentary Formula 1: Drive to Survive.

Unchained covers the 2022 Tour de France with a small group of cyclists and their teams. Produced by Box to Box Films and Quad, the first season of Tour de France was released in June last year. France Télévisions and Netflix share the distribution rights to the series.

The show’s second season, consisting of eight episodes, was recently released on the streaming giant and production on season 3 has been underway since the summer. Netflix France also confirmed the renewal of Tour de France: Unchained season 3 on social media.
