The first promo of Sony Liv’s upcoming series ‘Freedom at Midnight’ is here. This short video shared by the channel tells what exactly happened at midnight before India got independence.

The video shows how Gandhiji handed over a letter to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to withdraw his nomination, even though he was elected Congress President by the majority of party members and later became the first Prime Minister of India. But it was he who chose Jawaharlal Nehru.

The show, which will soon be airing on SonyLIV, is produced by Emme Entertainment (Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani) in association with StudioNext and SonyLIV. Nikhil Advani is the host and director of the show. The story is written by Abhinandan Gupta, Advitiya Kareng Das, Gundeep Kaur, Divya Nidhi Sharma, Revant Sarabhai and Ethan Taylor.
