Four vehicles of the Jewish Community Ambulance Service were set on fire in Golders Green, London on Monday. British police are considering this incident as an ‘anti-Jewish hate crime’.According to CCTV footage, three people were seen coming near an ambulance and setting it on fire. The suspects were later seen fleeing the scene, with thick smoke rising into the sky.Additional videos circulating online on social media showed vehicles burning and smoke spreading across the area.The vehicles belong to Hatzolah Northwest, a volunteer organization that provides emergency medical response. The London Fire Brigade (LFB) said four ambulances were damaged, several cylinders burst and windows in a nearby block of flats were broken. According to AP, at present there is no news of anyone being injured. Fire brigade personnel took prompt action and sent six engines and around 40 firefighters to the spot to control the fire. Officers were called to Highfield Road, Golders Green, at around 1.45am (local time) following reports of a fire.Superintendent Sarah Jackson, who oversees policing in the area, said: “We know this incident will cause community concern. Officers remain at the scene to make immediate inquiries. We are examining CCTV and online footage and we believe we are looking for three suspects at an early stage. No arrests have been made yet, and we urge anyone with information to contact us as soon as possible, if they wish, anonymously.“He said extra patrols were being deployed and police were speaking with faith leaders to reassure the local community, as reported by the Guardian. Shomrim, a neighborhood watch group in Golders Green, reported hearing loud explosions early Monday. He clarified that the blasts were caused by the oxygen tank in the ambulance and not by bombs or explosive devices. Some buildings were evacuated as a precaution, but there were no injuries.The Metropolitan Police are continuing to investigate the incident and officers have urged residents to stay away from the area while inquiries continue.
