Foot: Galaxy S25 Edge goes to pre-order, as well as other S25 deal and option

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S25 Edge – measuring only 5.8 mm, it is the thinnest smartphone in the years. In fact, no other phone released in the 2020s is immersed below 6 mm thick. This is not cheap, of course – here is a wide value breakdown. Is the edge only the phone you are waiting for or Samsung is trying to force a gimmick that will not catch?

If you are bent east, you will be happy to hear that Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge affects with more thinner – it is also very light. Despite great inequality in screen size (6.7 “vs. 6.2”), more than Vanilla Galaxy S25 is more weight. And it packs 200MP sensors in the main camera, which is exclusive to the first ultra model.

Of course, there are downside like battery capacity – it is smaller than Vanilla S25 (3,900mAh vs 4,000mAh). And it has the same slow charging (25W wired, 15W wireless). There is no telephoto camera, it depends on the 200MP unit to zoom. And finally, it is expensive. Samsung.com provides a free storage upgrade, as Amazon – Amazon also adds $ 50 gift cards.

As usual, when a new model is launched, the old model dries up for one or two weeks. Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra can be found from Samsung.com with free storage upgrade to 512GB, the Amazon costs around $ 100. Ultra is a large chanter (8.2 mm, 218g vs. 5.8 mm, 163g), but it also has a large display (6.9 “) and battery (5,000mAh) with rapid wired charging (45W).

And the 200MP camera is not alone when it comes to zoom – 10MP 3x (67 mm) is medium tele and 50MP 5x (111 mm) tall tele. It also has a 50MP ultra-wide camera, while the edge has a original 12MP unit like Vanilla and Plus model.

There is a point that the Edge will replace the plus model in the Galaxy S lineup next year. This year, however, the Galaxy S25+ is a bit cheaper – even without discount. If you want an S25+, we will advise you to wait for one or two weeks. Despite having the same screen size, the phone is large (7.3 mm, 190g vs 5.8 mm, 163g). However, it has 1,000mAh large battery (4,900mAh) and a fast 45W wired charging. Instead of 200MP camera, it has 50MP main and 10MP 3x (67 mm) telephoto.

While this razor is thin, the S25 edge is still 75.6 mm wide. Vanilla Samsung Galaxy S25 is 70.5 mm wide and weighs the same. Which phone is “small” in your mind? If it is S25, you get the same hardware as S25+except for 6.2 “display and 4,000mAh battery (essentially the same size as the edge).

Given other brands, the OnePlus 13 is close to the size of 13 ultra. But it is a large 6.82 ”display and a 6,000mAh battery-samsang still not above 5,000mAh. And it is with fast 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. The cameras are 50MP main, which are supported by 50mp 3x (73mm) and 50MP Ultra-Wide, more than $ 100.

There is also more inexpensive OnePlus 13R-it uses Snapdragon 8 General 3 chip instead of 8 aristocrats, its tele camera has 2x lens (47 mm) and ultra-wide is only 8MP unit. There are some other downgrade, but you still get 6.78 “Ltpo panel (1264p+ vs. 1440p+) and a 6,000mAh battery (80W wired-cavity). More details in our OnePlus 13 vs 13r 13R comparative article. All these are fine with half the price of the age.

Google Pixel 9 Pro XL is another phone that competes with ultra instead of edge. It is 8.5 mm thick and weighs 221g with 6.8 ”display and 5,060mAh battery (37W/23W charging).

Google Pixel 9 Pro is 72 mm wide – S25 is not as small as and is quite heavy on 199G. But you get the same hardware as Pro XL, except for 6.3 “display and 4,700mAh battery (27W/21W).

The Redmacic 10 Air was launched a month ago and it is in the same price bracket as OnePlus 13R. It uses the same Snapdragon 8 General 3 chipset, without active cooling fan which is a trademark for the brand. Its 6.8 “display is not a Ltpo panel and 50+50mp cameras are wide and ultra-wide, there is no telephoto on board.

Redmagic 10 Pro is $ 150 more than air, but you get Snapdragon 8 aristocratic square and 7,050mAh battery with active cooling. In addition, the USB-C port is USB 3.2 with displayports and if you like to use external displays and/or wired headphones you get a 3.5mm headphone jack. Fans and batteries add some bulk, however, the Pro measures 8.9 mm and 229g.
