Fire breaks out in two restaurants in Delhi’s INA market, inside information

A massive fire broke out at two restaurants in Delhi’s INA Market on Monday morning, injuring at least six people – ANI reported. The fire started at a fast food outlet and quickly spread to adjacent restaurants, causing extensive damage. According to Delhi Fire Services, multiple fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the fire. A portion of the roof of one of the restaurants collapsed due to the intensity of the flames.

Delhi Fire Service official Manoj Mahalawat said the fire department received a distress call around 3:20 am. “Seven to eight fire engines have been rushed there… Two restaurants have caught fire and six people are reported to be injured… The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained… The restaurant had more commercial cylinders than required, which could have led to a major accident…”

According to reports, the fire started at a Chinese restaurant and spread to the restaurant next door. The injured persons were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials are investigating the exact cause of the fire.

The news comes just days after a massive fire broke out at Veg Gulati, a famous Indian food restaurant on Pandara Road. The incident took place on the morning of July 17, 2024. According to a Delhi Fire Services official, the fire broke out in the seating area of ​​the establishment at 2:48 am and soon spread to the first floor. Four fire engines were used to douse the fire and the situation was brought under control within an hour. Some pieces of furniture and other items were damaged in the fire, but no casualties were reported.”

Frequent incidents of fire at these popular eateries have raised concerns over safety protocols in the city’s restaurant industry.
