FBI has added an Indian-origin man to its most wanted list due to alleged organized crime links.

Amid the ongoing crackdown on international organized crime, the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday included Indian-origin man Nitish Kaushal in its most wanted list.According to an FBI release, Kaushal Jaggu is an associate of the Bhagwanpuria organized crime group, which is engaged in murder, kidnapping, drug trafficking, extortion, arms smuggling, money laundering and human trafficking.“This organization, known as the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria Organized Crime Group (‘Bhagwanpuria OCG’), originated in the Indian state of Punjab and operated in the Central District of California and elsewhere. “Kaushal is accused of carrying out incidents of violence on behalf of Bhagwanpuria OCG, including but not limited to kidnapping and assault,” the agency said.It said, “On June 25, 2026, a federal arrest warrant was issued for Kaushal in the United States District Court, Central District of California, Los Angeles, California, after he was charged with conspiracy to influence racketeering and corrupt organizations.”A few days before this, US federal prosecutors had accused jailed Indian gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his close associate Goldie Brar of ordering the murder of Khalistan separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada.Additionally, the FBI and other law enforcement agencies also conducted a massive raid on the Lawrence Bishnoi network in the United States earlier this week. The agencies detained about two dozen individuals in California and elsewhere. The international operation, codenamed “Operation Hard Ball”, was reportedly aimed at dismantling key factions of the international crime syndicate targeting communities in North America and India.
