Exclusive: The foreign rights of Cool, starring Rajinikanth, were sold for Rs 68 crore, which is the second highest after the Jan Nayagan of Thalapathi Vijay.

Superstar Rajinikanth’s cool is slapped to hit a large screen on August 14, 2025. Due to the release of the film inch, the foreign rights of the direction of Lokesh Kanagaraja were purchased for a price.

In a special report, we have learned that international rights for cool have been purchased for Rs 68 crore. The distribution house AYNGARAN International signed a deal for the much awaited Tamil Action Entertainer.

According to reliable trade sources, the film would have gained a high number for its foreign rights, if Hrithik Roshan, not for the clash release with Junior NTR starrer War 2.

With a deal for cool, the film will become the highest record for a Rajinikanth starrer and the second largest in Tamil cinema. According to sources, Jan Nayagan of Thalapathy Vijay made the biggest deal till date as Phars films bought the film’s international rights for Rs 75 crore.

Earlier, Kamal Haasan’s thug life cited a price of Rs 63 crore with AP International, followed by Leo (Rs 60 crore – multiple distributor) and the largest ever (Rs 53 crore).

Top Tamil films foreign rights

Interestingly, the foreign rights of Rajinikanth starrer jailer were sold for Rs 35 crore, making the cool doubled the amount.

Talking about coulie, the much awaited action is directed by Lokesh Canagaraj. The upcoming film is asked to facilitate superstar in a negative role with experienced stars Nagarjuna Akini and Upendra Rao in the lead roles.

As Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan played the role of a cameo, the film has a contingent of actors of actors like Shruti Haasan, Saubin Shahir, Satyaraj, Pooja Hegde (Dance Number), and has many more important roles.

Coming to Rajinikanth’s work front, the actor is currently shooting for Jailor 2. Nelson Dilipkumar Direction is a follow -up to the 2023 release jailer, in which superstar has rebuilt his role as “Tiger” Muthuvel Pandian.

While more information about the film’s plot and actors is not yet officially made, it is expected that stars like Mohanlal, Nandamuri Balakrishna, and Shiva Rajkumar will appear in cameo roles. In addition, reports suggest that a Bollywood actor may also be a part of the cinematic venture.
