Actress Shruti Haasan is in the news after news surfaced about her latest films Chennai Story and Dacoit: A Love Story. India Today has exclusively learned that the actor has left two films. She is currently shooting for director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie starring superstar Rajinikanth.

Recently news came that Shruti Haasan has walked out of Adivasi Shesh’s Dacoit due to creative differences. A source close to Shruti told IndiaToday.in, “I don’t want to go into details. But, it is true that she is not doing Adivasi Shesh’s Dacoit: A Love Story.”

When asked if Shruti is still a part of Chennai Story, the source replied, “No, she is not doing that either. Right now, her focus is on Coolie.”

On December 20, 2023, it was announced that Adivasi Shesh and Shruti Haasan’s film has been titled Dacoit: A Love Story. An announcement teaser was also unveiled on the same day.

Similarly, Shruti Haasan was to play the role of a detective in the Indo-UK co-production, Chennai Story. The film is written and directed by BAFTA winner Philip John and co-written by Harasgama. Before Shruti, Samantha Ruth Prabhu was selected to play the lead role in the film. However, this proposal fell into Shruti’s lap. Now Shruti is also out of this film.

Shruti Haasan’s Coolie will release in theaters in 2025. His upcoming projects have not been announced yet.
