Ratna Pathak Shah is known for her brilliant acting skills and her singing personality. The veteran actress had a thoughtful conversation exclusively with Pinkvilla, where she shed light on various aspects of her life, career, likes and what not.
During the conversation, Ratna Pathak Shah talked about her Kapoor & Sons co-star, Alia Bhatt and revealed how she was different from other actresses of her generation. Talking about the experiences on the set, Ratna said, “Bahuti hi chaukas hai woh, tab maine jo note kiya about us. (She was very attentive). She was on the monitor all the time. Not when she was acting, but when other people were working. She would watch very attentively.”

The veteran actress praised the Love & War star for not pretending to be overly ‘cute’ on the sets. Ratna said, “She didn’t talk much, which is surprising because young actresses feel the need to be pretty entertainers all the time on the set. They think being that pretty person will help them. That makes them bad actors in many cases. Not Alia.”
She described herself as ‘talented and focused’ and revealed that they had not spoken to each other much since they had no scenes together. Ratna Pathak Shah concluded, “I was very impressed with her. She kept herself very quiet. I don’t think we exchanged more than a few words. Unfortunately we never had any scenes together. But I thought she was extremely talented and focused. I liked her.”
