Dhurandhar starring Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar has recently released on the big screen and is performing brilliantly at the box office. Now, veteran actor Rakesh Bedi gets candid with Pinkvilla, exclusively opens up about his journey in cinema and recalls how he received death threats after Ek Duje Ke Liye.

Speaking to Pinkvilla, Rakesh Bedi said, "You know, after Ek Duje Ke Liye I received death threats. Because both those heroes and heroines died because of me.
(You know, after Ek Duje Ke Liye, I received many death threats because I was the one who had created the misunderstanding that led to the death of the hero and heroine.)
The actor said, “In the film, I created a misunderstanding because I was also in love with that girl. That character was a villain, with a dose of humor. He was the cause of deaths. Those were the times of hysteria. Nowadays, that hysteria is not created, but Dhurandhar has created that hysteria.” (That was the era when films created a stir. Such craze is not common these days, but Dhurandhar has managed to create it.)
Later, Rakesh Bedi continued the conversation and talked about how the film has become a phenomenon despite its long runtime. During the chat, the veteran actor also revealed that at one point, the makers were advised not to cast him and were encouraged to choose a bigger star instead.
Bedi said, “The makers did not succumb to any pressure. I would say the biggest pressure was that they said do not take Rakesh Bedi for my role and take some big, well-known actor.”
(The producers never gave in to any pressure. The biggest pressure they faced was when they were told not to cast me and instead cast an older, more famous actor.)
He further added, “The director (Aditya Dhar) stuck to his conviction. He said he would not change the casting. There may be other big names, but they would not be able to play the role like Rakesh Bedi.”
