In a special interview with Today IndiaActor Kajol opened the current crop of talent in the film industry. He commented on comparison between his generation of actors and Jean-Z stars. The 50 -year -old appreciated stars like Alia Bhatt for making their way into the industry.
Kajol said, “I am very happy to say that no one is,” when asked if anyone from the younger generation reminded her that she was in the 90s. “This is an arrogant statement or nothing like that. But every actor we have made their world very clearly. They are not following someone’s footprints – and they should not do. It’s a different world today,” he said.
Kajol further emphasized that today the actor is inspired by his point of view, saying that it was not the same case when he started working in the industry. He said, “They are very clearly following their thoughts what films they should do and what not to do. And they are also clear about who they are.
When asked about the most promising star of the new generation, Kajol responded with praise for many young talents, but specifically accepted Alia Bhatt’s rise. He said, “Alia, I think she has proved herself a lot. So, I mean, yes … then you have Ananya, Janhvi, Sara – regular – all of them.”
Kajol is currently promoting her upcoming film ‘Ma’, which is set to release in theaters on 27 June.
