Someone has rightly said “Love doesn’t find you, it finds you.” This is exactly what happened with Indian Matchmaking’s Viral Joshi, who went on a journey to find her soulmate on the Netflix show. But fate had something else in store for her, and she found the love of her life outside the show. In an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla, Viral spoke about a lot of things, from Sima Taparia playing a key role in her love journey to whether the show is scripted or not.
When asked if being a part of Indian Matchmaking was an eye-opening experience for her about what she was looking for in life, Viral Joshi replied, “It was one of those things that was meant to happen. Because when I was working with Seema aunty, and I was working on the list of things that I wanted, I realised that ultimately the desire and ambition to build a life together and what that means and take on responsibilities together is more important than someone’s background.”
Viral further revealed that her fiancé is South Indian and admitted that he is very nice, and his family loves him. She also feels that if she had not done the show she would not have realised what it takes to have an adult relationship.
We know fans of Indian matchmaking would be curious to know if Sima Taparia had any involvement in helping Viral find her perfect match. When asked this question, she laughed and replied, “Unfortunately no! It seems Sima aunty is busy with a lot of other things. But I also believe that everything is pre-written and so if it wasn’t for my experience with Sima aunty, I wouldn’t have gone to New York. And if I had never gone to New York, I would never have met my fiancé. But no, Sima aunty was not involved in this match.”
Before we ended our conversation, we asked if Indian Matchmaking is scripted or not? Viral quipped, “There is nothing scripted about the show, what you see is what you get. You know we are not actors; we are just a bunch of people who have tried their hand at love, and you know nothing has been edited. It is a very authentic and open show and that is what makes it so popular and that is what makes it so entertaining.”
Well, we are very happy that Viral Joshi has found the love of his life and we wish him a happy married life.
