Aditi Rao Hydari has been in the film industry for more than two decades. Crossing languages, genres and boundaries, she has done it all. While talking to Pinkvilla about her long-running career and how she manages it all, the actress also opened up about her 2024 wedding with Sidharth.
With such a busy schedule, have you set limits in terms of whether I will be limited to a certain number of these hours or scenes?
Aditi Rao Hydari: I am a very easygoing person. I do what I feel. If I really feel something I just do it. If I love the people I’m working with, I forget about time. Having said that, some days are tough because sometimes you’re doing so much, and on some sets, you almost feel like there’s a tug of war going on, everything. Not personally, but situationally. That being said, most of the sets I’ve worked on have really nurtured me. 98% of the incredible directors I’ve worked with have been amazing to me. And, but I believe it is each one’s own, and you need to look at what, how you are giving your best.
There is a little greedy five-year-old child inside me who wants experiences. Also, as someone who is not from the industry, I have waited for the directors on my wish list to find me so that they can direct me. As an outsider, even after commercial success, I had to wait for my next film. And this is not a complaint. This is a fact. I’m used to it. So I have no problem with it. But then when I get that opportunity, I really enjoy it, and I really enjoy it. So I’m in that stage. I don’t know when this will change.
Do you have any go-to methods for self-care, skin prep, or a morning routine?
Aditi Rao Hydari: I listen to my body and my skin, and I feel like I’m very comfortable. I think my mother fooled me into believing that many healthy things tasted delicious. And ever since I was a little kid, she used to give me all kinds of things like cumin water. And it became a part of my everyday life. So I do that kind of self-care. But as Siddharth says, I think my superpower is me, and I believe his superpower is that we can just be five years old and we’re not overthinking things. I rely on home remedies (home remedies) and listen to my body.
And I need Siddharth. Siddharth is like an energy shot for me. Every time, I say the same, it is necessary. Because we are also working continuously, right? So when I am with Sidharth, I get some vitamins and fuel.
Would you say that there has been any change in the way you care for each other after marriage?
Aditi Rao Hydari: No, we take care of each other the same way we always have. I don’t think there is any difference.
