In a special conversation with India today, Angela talked about the joy of playing the role of an US President, working with Tom Cruise and his desire to visit India.
Excerpt from conversation:
Angela Do you know that Indian designer JJ Walaya has prepared you in a black panther?
Wow, no, I did not know her name, but I knew that I had some favorite gowns, especially in the film Lal was made by an Indian designer. I loved it and it was my favorite.
Do you find it strong to play the role of an American President who is a color woman? Do you think this set an example for young girls watching the film?
Oh, it is incredibly strong. And I hope they will get the message that whatever they want can be, not mitting about imagining their life in any possible way. You know, you can do it. If you can dream of it then nothing is impossible for you.
What if the queen of Black Panther Ramonda had to cross in ‘Mission Impossible’? What do you think she will do?
Well, Rani Ramoda was very concerned about the security of his country. And in ‘Mission Impossible’, Erica (President) is considering her country and the world – all massively of humanity. But I think they are both very strategic and equal ideology and have the best interests of those they love.
Do you remember for the first time when you heard the prestigious Mission Impossible Title Music?
Oh hell yeah. You know, this is a part of my music memory. And one of them is kept there. As soon as we hear it, it is like a match that is being killed and a fuse is being set. And we go away.
Have you learned something new about Tom Cruise while making this film?
I don’t think I came to know anything that we don’t know. I mean, we have seen his happiness, his enthusiasm, his love for movement, his fearlessness. His passion and dedication to his craft is unmatched.
And he is just as an actor and a filmmaker and through him.
Have you seen any Indian films, or do you have a plan to travel to India?
Oh, I would like to visit India the day when I get a chance. I am absolutely excited on that idea.

Is there a proposal or a piece that you would like to return home from the mission?
You know, in ‘Vakanda’, I got to keep my beads, who are very distinguished with Rani Ramoda. They brought them out every morning and took them back every evening and were very tight with it. But on the last day of shooting, the props master gifted me to those beads and I felt that it was such a beautiful gift. Well, I would like to take the key from the set of ‘Mission Impossible’. You know that very important!
‘Mission Impossible – The Final Reconstruction’ hits theaters across India on 17 May.
