Earlier in the year, Pinkvilla was reporting for the first time that after the historic success of 3 Idiots and PK, Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani are forming the team for the third time. Shortly thereafter, he made cooperation official, confirming that the film would be a biopic of Dadasaheb Phalke and announced the Christmas 2026 release. Ever since, there is a tremendous expectation to learn more on the feature film. In a special conversation with Pinkvilla, celebrating the success of Sitare Zamin Paar, we asked Aamir Khan to share an update on the reunion with Rajkumar Hirani.
Aamir Khan Confirmed that the film will go on the floor in the last quarter of 2025 and is currently running prep-work. “I think, Phalke is a very big challenge. Again, it is not a regular mainstream film loaded with action and set pieces. It is the story of a man who has done those things that no one can imagine back in the day. He was a courageous way, he was a courageous, he was a person, he was a person who wanted to do anything.”
This is 3 stupid or PK, all cooperation Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani Comedy is placed with strong undertakings. Will we get to see humor in Phalke too? Aamir replied, “I think, Raju and Abhijeet (Joshi, writer) have a special inclination towards comedy and so I do. We all really like humor and I think that is the style that likes to work in Raju – drama with humor. So, it will probably fall into the same style too.”
Talking about Sitare land cross, the film is leading to enter its 9th day club of Rs 100 crore, and is a dramatic success. RS PRASSANA DIRECTIONL, once cleaned a mark of Rs 150 crore at the Indian box office, strengthened his run with a clean hit tag, which should be in the third weekend.
