The Philadelphia Zoo has announced that two endangered Galapagos turtles have become parents at the age of 100 for the first time. The zoo said that for the first time in the 150 -year existence of the zoo, it was “very happy”, welcoming the female mummy and men Abrazo to Abrazo.
Mummy, at the age of 97, has been in Philadelphia Zoo since April 1932. Abrajo is estimated to be 96 years old. He was brought to the zoo in December 2020.
The zoo said Galpagos turtles may last up to 200 years, which keeps them firmly in a moderate age.
According to a zoo announcement on Thursday, the first hatching appeared on 27 February. Others chased in a few days, and the final one was composed on 6 March.

The zoo mentions that four hatchings weighing between 70 and 80 grams, currently reptiles and amphibians are being placed behind the curtains in the house, “eating and growing properly.”
The zoo said in an Instagram post that the mummy is considered one of the most genetically valuable Galapagos turtles in plans for the existence of zu and aquarium species, the zoo said in an Instagram post. She has also become the oldest first of her species, said this.

Lauren Augustine, director of the Herpatology Zoo, said the baby turtles were “luxurious” and they “are about the size of a tennis ball and they are very weak.”
Young turtles probably never occur in the surrounding area similar to their parents. Hatches risk crushing due to the weight of about 127 kg due to his parents’ large size mummy, while Abrajo weighs 185 kg.
