Ekta Kapoor urged the material creators to invest their money in filmmaking; Malegaon and Buckingham Murds discuss the superboy of box office failure

In a series of Instagram stories, the producer encouraged the content creators to keep their own money in filmmaking. Popular producer Ekta Kapoor recently slammed those who claim that Indian content is not equal to internationally acclaimed shows and films. On March 21, 2025, she took her to her Instagram stories and was surprised whether the reason behind this is “ego, anger, or just wrong allegations.”

In his post, he cited examples of films such as Superboy of Malegaon and Hansal Mehta’s The Buckingham Murdors, who did not work in theaters despite receiving positive reviews from critics. The creator of the crew expressed in his note that only the “real criminal” ie audiences can be blamed for this.

He further said, “Since it is not blaming people in such abstract words (social media cannot bring them down on NA, so there is no fun), let’s say that the major part of India is in its evolutionary stage as far as the material is concerned. You can say that it is in its teens.”

In his closing post, Kapoor urged the creators to fight the system saying that “these money is hungry, corporate studios and apps only think of money (involved) and numbers.” He also slammed studios and streaming platforms to treat entertainment like an industry. “Movie-making and content creation is not a business. This is an art,” he wrote, “I urge the creators to invest their money. The problem is solved!”

Talking about the international show is being loved by the Indian audience, on March 21, 2025, Alia Bhatt reviewed the Netflix series, adolescence on her social media handle. He launched his note saying that the show is “really perfection”.
