The last few days have been very important for Janhvi Kapoor as she made her debut at the Cannes Film Festival. She is there for her film Homebound and has already made her red carpet appearance. The actress became indifferent as she returned to her mother Sridevi’s ‘favorite’ holiday. He remembered how he always came together as a family to celebrate special moments.
In Vogue’s last look segment, Janhvi Kapoor recalled her late mother Sridevi while getting ready for her red carpet appearance at the 78th Cannes Film Festival. He said that ear was his mother’s favorite holiday destination and he spent three or four summer together there.
Janhvi further shared that it was always a big thing for his family whenever her mother achieved something like receiving the award or releasing the film. “I remember the English Vinglish, I think it was a premiere at the Toronto Film Festival.” He recalled, “All these big life moments we will always live together as a family and experience together and celebrate together.”
Dhadak actress mentioned that he was now finally back to Cannes, and her father Boney Kapoor and sister Khushi Kapoor were with her. He admitted that it seemed strange to be there without his mother. “And I think it’s coming back here without her. And especially because she has always taken me for all her big moments,” she said. Janhvi concluded saying that she really remembers her.
Janhvi Kapoor started a brilliant red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival 2025 on 20 May. He wore a tissue skirt and corset by designer Tarun Tahiliani. For the premiere of homebound on 21 May, she donated a backless Anamika Khanna gown.
Coming to the film, it has been selected in some United Nations’ Tillage Section Section. The film is written and directed by Neeraj Ghaywan. Along with Janhvi Kapoor, it has Ishaan Khat and Vishal Jethwa.
The film is produced by Karan Johar, other Poonwal, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra. Marizke Desuza and Melita Torskan do planter co-producers. Martin Scorscie is an executive manufacturer.
