The Dyson HashJet is powerful but what makes it stand out is that it can deliver all this power while still remaining super most of the time. We tested Hashjet extensively here at India Today Tech and here’s what we have to say about it.

If you live in Delhi-NCR, the truth is that you are always looking for an ideal air purifier to make your home and other places pollution free. Dyson’s new HushJet could be a good choice for most people for several reasons, which we at India Today Tech experienced and realized while reviewing it extensively in a small home setup in Noida.

According to Dyson, the HushJet has a powerful motor, which can clean or purify a room of approximately 100 square meters in size in just a few minutes. For an air purifier billed for its compact and lightweight form-factor, it seems like an impressive feat of engineering. Weighing approximately 3.15 kg, the HashJet has been designed to be easily carried around and placed where needed. The MyDyson app gives you detailed control over most settings, making it easy to use even for the most technically challenged people at home or from a remote location.
Being a Dyson, it comes at a premium, priced at Rs 29,900, but when you do the math, the numbers add up well and you get a package that mostly lives up to its name and reputation. In other words, this new Dyson air purifier means business on paper but then again, how does it all come together in the real world. Let’s find out.
A quick look at the specifications before we delve deeper: The Dyson HushJet uses a fully sealed 360-degree HEPA filtration system that promises to capture 99.97 percent of particles as small as 0.3 microns, including dust, pollen, and PM2.5 pollutants. It also has an activated carbon layer that tackles odors and harmful gases. The HushJet also has intelligent sensors that automatically detect air quality and adjust the purification level accordingly. You get real-time monitoring and scheduling as well as auto and sleep modes through the MyDyson app.
Not your typical Dyson design
Here at India Today Tech, we have been reviewing Dyson air purifiers for a long time. Although we have appreciated their performance, one thing that always feels repeated is the design. That familiar traditional circular arc has been drawn so many times that we have lost track. With the new Hashjet, Dyson finally introduces a brand new design that looks fresh and interesting.
We tested the Black/Teal color variant, which has a black cylindrical lower body with a teal cap on top. The design resembles a jet turbine. This new design is also not just for show. Unlike the Dyson Cool Gen 1, which has a loop design that pushes air straight forward, the HashJet throws air upward. The flow of air can make the room feel a little cold in winter, but since it doesn’t blow air directly at your face, you don’t feel as uncomfortably cold.
Coming back to the design and build, the body is made of plastic, but it doesn’t feel cheap at all. In fact, it feels sturdy despite being lightweight. I was able to move it around easily with one hand and move it from one room to another without any hassle.
The black cylindrical base houses a 360-degree filter system. It has a small LED display that shows air quality data. Although the display looks clear when you stand close to it, it is quite small and difficult to read from a distance. A slightly larger screen would have made it more practical. You can control the purifier either through physical buttons on the unit or through the MyDyson app. The Dyson HushJet is also easy to open and remove the filters.
Overall, as far as design is concerned, the HashJet is certainly attractive. It is lightweight, easy to install and use, and can easily blend into the aesthetics of your living room or bedroom. In fact, it became a conversation starter for me whenever I hosted home parties.
Clean air in minutes, easy to control
As I said at the beginning of this review, the Dyson HushJet is a capable air purifier machine and can clean the air in your room within minutes. The purifier uses a completely sealed 360-degree HEPA H13 filter system that can capture 99.97 percent of particles as small as 0.3 microns, including dust, pollen, allergens, and PM2.5 pollutants. It also has an activated carbon layer that tackles odors and harmful gases.
For reference, I used HushJet in my bedroom which is about 250 square feet in size. In my room, the HashJet managed to bring the AQI from 900 to 55 in about 15 minutes. I also tested it in the kitchen to remove smoke and strong cooking smells and it handled that efficiently too. The purifier helped remove the damp, musty odor that sometimes lingers indoors.
As someone who suffers from asthma, HashJet helped me manage pollen allergies and breathe easier during winter as well as spring pollen season.
I also liked the MyDyson app support. In addition to button controls, the app offers real-time AQI readings, pollutant breakdown (like PM2.5 levels), filter health status, and scheduling options. You also get an alert when it’s time to change the filter, so you don’t have to guess or open the unit to check.
so far so good. But now let’s talk about Hush Hush. While Dyson positions the HushJet as a quiet purifier, the fan gets louder when running at higher speeds, especially in Auto mode when pollution levels are higher, and the machine gets louder. It only becomes relatively quiet below fan speed level 4. So, if you are sensitive to noise during sleep, you may need to switch to manual mode and reduce the fan speed.
Another thing to consider is the direction of air flow. The HashJet pushes purified air vertically upward rather than straight forward. This protects your face from the effects of cold, but can make the room feel a bit cold, especially in winter.
Also keep in mind that if you want air purification in multiple rooms at the same time, you’ll need more than one unit, and at Rs 29,900 it can get a little pricey. Filter replacement is another long-term cost that must be considered. Dyson claims the filter is designed for long-term use, and in my case, even after about two months of regular use, the filter health still looks good on the app. But over time, replacement will increase the total cost.
Power consumption is another factor. I used the Dyson HashJet almost every day, and some days, it would run for 24 hours non-stop. Although I don’t have exact unit consumption data, my electricity bill during the testing period was quite high, considering that this was a new device coming into use. Therefore, there is a price to be paid for continued use.
That said, if clean air is your top priority, the extra expense may seem justified, especially in cities where pollution levels are not only bad, but extremely dangerous. Instead of repeatedly spending on medicines or going to the hospital due to poor air quality, investing in a reliable air purifier can be beneficial in the long run. And the HashJet is definitely an option worth considering, given that it largely delivers on its promise of effective air purification.
Dyson Husjet air purifier review: should you buy it?
If you’re looking for an air purifier to tackle dangerous levels of air pollution, the Dyson HushJet is definitely worth considering. It is compact, easy to carry around and powerful enough to clean room air within minutes. The fully sealed HEPA filtration system, strong motor, and app support make it a smart and capable choice.
However, it comes with some limitations. It is best suited for use in a single room, unless you are willing to invest in multiple units, and long-term costs including filter replacement and electricity can add up. It can also be a little noisy at higher fan speeds.
That said, if air purification is your top priority and budget is not a constraint, the Dyson HushJet is definitely an attractive option. But if you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option or need coverage for multiple rooms, you may want to explore other options.
