new trailer for Dune: Part Three has been unveiled, offering a complete look at the final film in Denis Villeneuve’s trilogy. Directed by Denis Villeneuve, the footage featuring actor Timothée Chalamet hints at a dark chapter in Paul Atreides’ story, while also giving more space to Zendaya, Jason Momoa, and Sandworm.

The film sees Chalamet returning as Paul, who continues the story after finally coming to power part Two. Inspired by Frank Herbert’s Dune Messiah, the story takes place 17 years after the previous film and examines the consequences of Paul’s rule as Emperor, as his vision of the future is no longer clear.

In the trailer, Paul admits that his ability to see ahead has weakened since taking control of the galaxy. “The future has a way of talking to me,” says Paul. “I can’t see what’s next.” They also face a new adversary in actor Robert Pattinson’s Scythe, a shapeshifter who seeks to remove them from power. “We’re planning to attack the center of royal power,” Skytel says, making it clear he’s pushing for “regime change.”

The footage also stars actor Zendaya as Fremen warrior Chani, whose relationship with Paul is complicated by his marriage to Princess Irulan, played by actor Florence Pugh. Chani now wants a child. The trailer also features a warrior named Duncan Idaho, who died protecting Paul and his mother, played by actor Rebecca Ferguson, and who is brought back as a ghoul. Scythe sends Duncan to Paul as a “gift”, and a sequence shows the exchange between the ghoul and Paul.

Returning cast members include Rebecca Ferguson, actor Javier Bardem and Pugh, whose role as Princess Irulan is expanded in the new film. Actress Anya Taylor-Joy also returns as Aliya Atreides, who becomes a devoted follower of her brother. New cast members include Pattinson and actor Isaac de Bankole as Paul’s former Fedekin death commando.

Dune: Part Three Set for theatrical release on December 18, 2026.
