Mohanlal’s Drishyam 3 has recently completed its shooting, fans are eagerly waiting for its release date. The makers have now officially announced that the film will release on the big screens on April 2, 2026, coinciding with Maundy Thursday.

In a new post on social media, Mohanlal confirmed that Drishyam 3 will release on April 2 this year. Sharing the update, the makers wrote, “Years have passed. The past has not passed. #Drishyam3 | Worldwide Release | April 2, 2026.”

The new post offers an animated glimpse of the upcoming film, with little to no details revealed about the project. Additionally, it teases elements that were initially introduced in the first installment. Additionally, the film’s tagline reads, “The past never stays silent.”
Earlier, the filmmaker had made it clear that Drishyam 3 will be released six months before the Hindi remake hits the big screens. Speaking about the film, Jeethu Joseph said, “Drishyam is a film that has influenced a lot of people over the years. It carries a huge load of expectations, and I ask everyone to watch it without any preconceived expectations.”

Drishyam 3 is the upcoming sequel to the crime drama franchise directed by Jeetu Joseph. The original film tells the story of Georgekutty, a middle-class man who lives a simple life with his wife and daughters.
However, their lives take a drastic turn when Georgekutty and his family come under suspicion after IG Geeta Prabhakar’s son, Varun Prabhakar, goes missing. With several clues pointing towards Georgekutty’s involvement, the film throws light on the truth and how the family leads the tense investigation.
In 2021, the sequel continued the narrative while exploring new dimensions of the story. With this third installment, the franchise is expected to explore another chapter in the life of the family.
Apart from Lalettan, the third film will see Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Asha Sharath, Murali Gopi, Siddique and many others reprising their previous roles.

Mohanlal will next be seen in the lead role in a film tentatively titled L365. Directed by Tharun Murthy, the upcoming film is a police action-comedy, which is rumored to have Mira Jasmine playing the female co-lead role.
