Drishyam 3, starring Mohanlal in the lead role, is currently in production and is expected to be in the final stages of shooting. Recently, the theatrical, digital and airborne rights of the film were purchased by Panorama Studios, leading to speculation whether the Ajay Devgan-starrer Hindi and Venkatesh’s Telugu adaptations could be released simultaneously with the Malayalam version.
However, director Jeethu Joseph has now clarified the matter by revealing details about the release plans of the Mohanlal-starrer.
Drishyam 3: Is the Mohanlal starrer releasing along with its Hindi adaptation?
According to a post circulating on social media, a user had contacted director Jeethu Joseph on Instagram and asked about the release date of Drishyam 3. In response, the filmmaker replied, “No… we will release after 2 months first, only they can release.”

Earlier, production and distribution company Panorama Studios had announced that they have acquired the official rights of Drishyam 3 from Ashirwad Cinemas.
Amidst widespread speculations about a simultaneous multilingual release, the director himself has now put the rumors to rest by clarifying the release sequence.
More About Drishyam Franchise
Drishyam is a Malayalam-language crime thriller which was released in theaters on 19 December 2013. The film tells the story of Georgekutty and his family, who come under suspicion when IG Geeta Prabhakar’s son, Varun Prabhakar, goes missing.
With many clues raising questions about whether Georgekutty is responsible for the incident or not, the film traces the truth and how the family takes the investigation forward.
Apart from Mohanlal, the film also stars Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Asha Sharath, Siddique, Kalabhavan Shajon, Roshan Bashir and many others in lead roles.
The film was a major commercial success and was later remade in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Sinhala, Mandarin and many other languages.
Years later, the makers returned with a sequel, Drishyam 2, which premiered directly on OTT and continued Georgekutty’s story. Now, the franchise is gearing up for its third installment.
Mohanlal’s work front
Mohanlal will next be seen in the bilingual film Vrishabh, which is scheduled to release on December 25, 2025, coinciding with Christmas.
Looking ahead, the actor will also be seen in the lead role in a tentatively titled L365.
