The Mohanlal-starrer released in theaters on May 21 on the occasion of the actor’s 66th birthday and regained momentum over the weekend after a slight decline on Friday (day 2).

According to tracking website SacnilkThe family thriller earned Rs 13.7 crore in India on its third day, taking its total domestic net collection to Rs 40.60 crore. Its worldwide gross collection has now reached Rs 117.17 crore.

The film also posted strong occupancy figures on Saturday. 5,185 shows were held across the country, scene 3 Overall 50.2 percent occupancy was recorded. The Malayalam version was the biggest contributor with an overall occupancy of 66.52 percent. The evening and night shows performed particularly well, recording 75.42 per cent and 72.75 per cent occupancy respectively.

Kochi emerged as the film’s strongest market, recording the highest occupancy of 88.3 percent across 238 shows.

Mohanlal thanked the fans

Amid the success of the film, Mohanlal thanked the audience for the response. In a note shared on X, the actor expressed his gratitude for the love and support the franchise has received over the last 13 years.

His post read, “Thank you for being on this journey with us for 13 years. Your love, support and faith in this story continues to humble us every day. Drishyam 3 is running successfully in theaters near you.”
