Dreamy Airstyle review: The smart hair-styler that’s high on features and low on price
We know hair-dryers and stylers can be smart. We’ve seen some before from Dyson. Now, we get one from Dreame. It’s called AirStyle and it offers a ton of features, performance to match, and all this at a relatively affordable price. In this Dream Airstyle review we found that it can match more expensive hair-stylers.

What do you think of when you hear the word hair-styler? Possibly a useless tool that can dry your hair as well as help shape it when you’re feeling restless on weekday mornings. This is probably accurate too. But we have seen that companies like Dyson are changing this perception of hair-dryers and hair-stylers. They are giving these devices smart. Apart from Dyson, one such company whose products we are now starting to see in India is Dreamy. Earlier, at India Today Tech, we reviewed the Dreamy L10S Pro Ultra Heat, a robot house-cleaner and we were quite impressed with it. It was a premium, expensive product and an excellent automated robot-cleaner for users who could afford it. Now, we are reviewing the hair styler Dreamy Airstyle.
There are a lot of similarities between the product philosophies of Dyson and Dream. Recently, when Dream launched its AirStyle and yes, the name itself gives you déjà vu, you immediately think of the Dyson AirWrap, I was curious to see what Dream had to offer. More than the name, its price piqued my interest. The Dreame Airstyle is priced at Rs 24,999, which is almost half the price of its more expensive rival. This raises the obvious question how. Like how can Dreamy price something so low and does that mean it has a lot of cost cutting? Does a lower price also mean a more cumbersome and ineffective user experience?
Well, I’ve used the Airstyle for about a week and I’m impressed. The Dreamy Airstyle offers multiple attachments, is easy to use and clean, and comes in premium packaging. But of course, there are areas where it definitely isn’t as premium as the Dyson. let’s take a closer look.
Premium design, easy to clean
The dreamy Airstyle comes in this cream color option with metallic brass finish. Of course, it is made of plastic. But its paint job, which is very sleek and premium, gives it a great look. The hair-styler has a minimalist design. It weighs around 1 kg, which is not too heavy and is similar in weight to the Dyson AirWrap. However, using it with one hand while styling gives your arm a workout.
In the box, there are five attachments, including a dryer, auto-wrap barrel, smoothing brush, round volumizing brush, and flyaway attachment. You can easily apply all these, remove them and clean them with water after styling your hair. The build quality of the attachments is quite sturdy, although they are also made of plastic.
The Airstyler comes in an antique looking suitcase box, which is easy to carry and looks quite premium.
Using the DreamEye AirStyler
Well, it works effectively and in a hassle-free manner. Using the device is a very straightforward process. You choose the attachment you want to use, turn on the power, select the air pressure and heat and go.
For air pressure, there are three settings low, medium and high that you can use as per your styling needs. DreamEye also includes a user guide to help you set the settings according to your hair type and styling needs. The heat settings are really easy and include cool air, medium heat and high heat, which you can use as needed.
In my use, I often use the dryer attachment, which requires maximum air pressure and heat. My hair is thin and long, and the AirStyler helped me dry it about 95 percent of the way in about 15–20 minutes, which is pretty impressive. However, for styling, you need slightly damp hair, so after 5 to 10 minutes of drying, you can switch to different styler attachments.
Now, given that my hair is thin and somewhat wavy, I also used the volumizing attachment and the flyaway attachment. Both work great and work effectively. Understand that the AirStyler is not that compact, so it takes a lot of time. Also, you need to change arms to cover both sides. This is quite a workout and may take you some time to complete. In other words, when you are in a hurry to reach office early in the morning, you will not have time to style your hair.
While the performance is there, as well as the feature set, I noticed that the AirStyler doesn’t feel as sophisticated as the Dyson AirWrap. For example, the AirStyle auto-wrap curler lacks the option to change wrap direction, making it a bit cumbersome compared to the AirWrap. Another difference is the carry box. The AirWarp box is much more premium than the AirStyler box. An important thing to remember here is the price. The AirStyler sells for less than half the price of the Airwrap, so the differences I’m talking about seem like minor drawbacks and can be overlooked.
Dreamy Airstyle Review: Is It Worth It?
If you want a good hair styling tool with multiple attachments under Rs 25,000 that doesn’t damage your hair with heat, the Dreamy Airstyler is a good option. It’s easy to clean, comes with a portable case, and offers both cool and hot air settings, making it an affordable alternative to more expensive options like the Dyson Airwrap. Additionally, the Airstyler is currently available on Amazon at a more affordable price, making the deal even more attractive. It is being sold for Rs 19,999. So, the Dreamy Airstyler gets a big thumbs up from me.
You see, price is the real deal here. While smart hair-stylers have existed, it’s nice to see that brands like Dreamy have started bringing them out at lower prices, giving a wider user base the option to take a chance with them.
